I miss fresh vegetables! I was eating well this summer, throwing food right off the plant into my mouth, and I felt great! But now, not so much, with my taco Tuesdays, french fry Fridays, and chips and salsa with melted cheese all the other days. So I broke down and bought kale from the grocery store and am turning it into smoothies!

Green Smoothie
3 leaves of kale, stem removed
1 frozen banana
2 tablespoons honey
3 tablespoons ground golden flax seed
At least one cup almond milk
1 tablespoon chia seeds

Blend it all together, adding as much almond milk as you like until it’s the right consistency. Add the chia seeds once everything else is blended and then mix them in. Pour into a glass and voila!

I make green smoothies every morning! We should compare recipes… :)
